Thank you for getting this website up and running. Do you think you will include a Baguazhang Instructors Directory? I found my teacher way back in 1996 because of and through the Instructors Directory in the back of the Pa Kua Chang Journal. Thanks.

Great idea! Let me think about that one for a bit and see what the best way to do this would be.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I am grateful that you have returned. The Journal was the best western literary source for our art. I look forward to see what happens in this venue.

RE: Welcome to Pa Kua Chang Journal!

Wow! Personally I find it incredibly serendipitous that I found this site so soon after it was created. I bought the journal collection on cd a couple years ago and I've recently been reading through that and Park Bok Nam and Dan Miller's books. On a whim I got online and tried to find out what Dan Miller's been up to since the journal stopped publication. I'm happy to see it given new life. Bagua is alive and well, and today's web communication is an ideal and convenient venue for such a worthy project.

Which begs the question: is this site to serve as a shrine for the original published material, or will it continue from where the original left off? I strongly hope it is the latter. There is a good deal of interest in bagua out there, and in this age where practically everybody has a camera and/or video recorder and information can be collected and disseminated with greater clarity and efficiency, if the established traditions of impartial reporting, historical discussion and technical explanation can be maintained and combined with a greater capacity for establishing connections between bagua enthusiasts worldwide, the Pa Kua Chang Journal, as great as it was before, has the potential to be even greater resource than originally anticipated.

I'm looking forward to seeing what grows out of this.

Thank you for putting up this sight. It is so important for this art to have a place where practitioners can meet and exchange ideas.

Welcome Back PKCJ been awhile good to see you back in full swing!!

Your Instructors directory need to be updated. for example: Ben Hill is no longer located in Bronx, NY. He now teaches in Syracuse, NY.

Oh, And I see you have clips of Sifu Rudy but his contact info is not listed. He teaches in queens, NY

    Hope this helps

Thanks for following up with my suggestion to add an Instructors Directory to the site. Thanks for listening to the members, users and followers of the Pa Kua Chang Journal website.

I have a question. Why are there non baguazhang (and non martial arts) related videos included in the video section of this website? I would think that all the videos be baguazhang or baguazhang related on here.

RE: Welcome to Pa Kua Chang Journal!

I was a former student of Sifu Park Bok Nam. Part of his Watertown study group. I still have the original copies of the paper back version of the journal save one. The one which has an picture of his study group in Watertown which is the second to last issue. I was wondering if anyone has this image and if you do can you send it to me. I have been looking for years and would appreciate it.Thank you.
